Cisco CATALYST switch port monitor configuration

CISCO CATALYST switches are Cisco Catalyst Switch divided into two types, the CATALYST familythat listens on port of port (analysis port).

1, the Catalyst 2900XL/3500XL/2950 series switch port monitor configuration(based on CLI)

The following commands to configure the port monitor:

Port monitor

For example, F0/1 and F0/2 are VLAN1, F0/3, F0/1 monitor F0/2, F0/3 port:

Interface FastEthernet0/1

Port monitor FastEthernet0/2

Port monitor FastEthernet0/3

Port monitor VLAN1

2, Catalyst 40005000, and 6000 series switch port monitor configuration(based on IOS)

The following commands to configure the port monitor:

Set span

For example, module 1 Ports 1 and 2 belong to VLAN1, port 3 port in VLAN2, 4 and 5 in VLAN2, port 2 listening on port 1 and 3, 4, 5,

Set span 1/1, 1/3-5 1/2

3 COM switch port monitor configuration

In 3COM switch port listening, known as the "Roving Analysis". The network traffic is called "listen port monitor port" (Monitor Port), connected tomonitoring equipment port called "analysis" (Analyzer Port).

The following commands to configure the port monitor:

Intel switch port monitor configuration

Intel said the port monitor for "Mirror Ports". Network traffic monitoring portcalled "source" (Source Port), connected to monitoring equipment port called"mirror image" (Mirror Port).

Configure port monitoring procedure is as follows:

In the navigation menu, click on the Statistics Mirror Ports, pop Mirror Ports information.

● click on Configure Source column in the port to choose the source port,bring up the Mirror Ports Configuration.

● the source port settings:

The source port is a source of image flow export, mirror port is received from asource port discharge port.

● click Apply

You can choose three kinds of monitoring methods:

1 continuous (Always): the mirror all traffic.

The 2 period (Periodic): in a certain period mirror all traffic. Mirror cycle in Sampling Interval configuration set.

Prohibition of 3 (Disabled): close the flow image.

Avaya switch port monitor configuration

The switches in the Avaya user manual, port monitoring is referred to as the"mirror" (Port Mirror).

The following commands to configure the port monitor:

{set|clear} Port Mirror

Set port: set port mirror <mod-port-range> source-port listen to <mod- port-range> mirror-port <mod-port-spec> sampling {disable periodic} always | |[max-packets-sec max-packets-sec-value>] [piggyback-port <mod-port-spec>]

Prohibit the port monitor: clear port mirror <mod-port-range>

Command, mod-port-range specifies the port range; mod-port-spec specify a particular port; piggyback-port specify a two-way mirror port; sampling the specified image cycle; max-packets-sec only when sampling is set to periodic,specifies the data off most of the volume per second monitor port.

Huawei switch port monitor configuration

Huawei switch user manual, port monitoring is referred to as the "mirror" (PortMirroring).

The use of Huawei Lanswitch View management system to add a mirror port:

● select Device Setup or Stack Setup.

● click Port Mirroring.

● click Add button.

● for stacking, click Switch and select a switch from the list.

● click Reflect from and select flow cisco Switch will be mirrored port.

● click Reflect to and choose the top choice of port.
